Last Thursday, January 10, at the headquarters of the AEPE, took place the ceremony of delivery of the Down Madrid Medal of the 85th Autumn Salon to Cristóbal Rodríguez Sahagún, who was accompanied by numerous fellow artists of the Madrilenian foundation, as well as by Elena Escalona, Director of the Down Syndrome Foundation of Madrid, and Belén Padilla, Coordinator of Culture and Down Art.
The President of the AEPE, José Gabriel Astudillo López, proudly presented this medal, accompanied by some members of the Board of Directors such as the Vice President, Juan Manuel López-Reina, the Members Antonio Téllez de Peralta, Paloma Casado, Carmen Bonilla Carrasco, the Librarian Fernando de Marta and the Treasurer, Ana Martínez.
In addition, Mª Luisa and Miguel Ángel Codina, did not want to miss the moment, that they all shared willingly after a visit to the social facilities.
We recall that the oil painting entitled “Atardecer en la Gran Vía”, by Cristóbal Rodríguez Sahagún, was the winner of the Down Madrid Medal of the past Autumn Salon, and that it is the second edition that is awarded, in which the artists down demonstrate his artistic sensibility, at the height of the rest of artists and professionals.
The full inclusion of the artists Down, is a source of pride for all those who have contributed to its recognition in the traditional Salon de Otoño, the oldest and most prestigious call of those held in Spain, thus constituting the first real opportunity that a centenary institution like the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, provides a group that still reserves many surprises in a very promising future.
