The majorero artist, Ian Lorenzo, inaugurated on January 22 the exhibition “Purgatory” that can be visited at the House of Culture of Puerto del Rosario until next February 13, 2020, from Monday to Friday from 9 at 2pm and from 4:30 pm to 8pm.
“Purgatory” is an exhibition of marked personal character; a place where melancholic souls go into all the darkness they suffer. A collection of portraits and artifacts in black and white that leave their mark on the viewer. This mark is due to the fact that his works are born from themes such as depression, melancholy, loneliness and other nostalgic feelings. Generally mixed media, these portraits use tools such as graphite, tempera, watercolor and acrylic.
Ian Lorenzo (Fuerteventura, 1994) studied artistic baccalaureate in Valencia, and continues his free training as a self-taught artist. He has made collective exhibitions in different cities (Valencia, Madrid, Barcelona, Albacete, Badajoz …). Some of his works sold are found in various places in Spain, and some in other countries such as Britain, Germany, Russia, Mongolia, Australia, United States and Colombia.
“Purgatory” premiered in Lanzarote last December, being its first individual exhibition. Now it lands with more than 100 works in Fuerteventura, until February 13, in the House of Culture of Puerto del Rosario.
