Juan Ramón Luque Ávalos, with the work “The White Dune” turned out to be the winner of the VI National Painting Contest “City of Torrejón de Ardoz”, endowed with a single prize of 3,000 euros.
The Jury of the prize met last October and was formed by José Gabriel Astudillo López, President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, Antonio Sánchez Luengo, Deputy Director General of Fine Arts of the Community of Madrid and Carlos León, Artist of recognized professional career.
The awards were presented on October 26, at the opening of the exhibition of the awarded and selected works, which took place in the House of Culture of Torrejón de Ardoz, in an act chaired by the Councilor for Culture of the Madrid town, José Antonio Moreno, in an initiative that, in his words, “was born with the aim of promoting and promoting local artists.”
In addition to the Luque Ávalos prize, the Jury awarded two Honorable Mentions that went to María Cristina Pollesel, for “Waking up with good tune” and Juan Carlos López, for “Test 01”.
A total of 90 works have been presented to this VI edition of the contest, of which 40 belong to Torrejón authors, selecting a total of 32 works, which are part of the exhibition that will be open until November 17 in the House of culture.
