Convened the 87 Autumn Hall of the AEPE

The centennial entity bets on art despite t

he moments of uncertainty that we live

The Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors has just called what will be the 87th edition of the Autumn Salon, the oldest and most prestigious event of all those that are held in Spain, making public the rules that will govern the event.

As usual, the call is focused on the plastic arts and the promotion of new values in a call open to all artists, whether or not they are associated, although only members may attend the honorary awards that take the name of the founders of the centennial Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors.

The Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors works in a line of innovative culture, that is, it does not seek a display of awards that represent an economic endowment, but rather an excellence that is transformed into disclosure of the work and the artist, and that, as he confesses the President of the AEPE, José Gabriel Astudillo, means not endowing the prizes financially, but being creative and channeling those selected and awarded on the difficult path of artistic creation.

This is manifested in the way of understanding art in a society, acquiring a commitment of support and new opportunities to those who manage to be visible through the Autumn Salon, empowering their artistic project in a way that supports artists with resources in the that is clearly and forcefully committed to his work.

Recognizing talent is just what entities like Tritoma Cultural Management, the Getafe City Council, the Baluarte Room of the Tres Cantos City Council, Codina Escultura, Encuentro Real Estate Agents, Santiago de Santiago and the Spanish Association of Watercolor Painters, who come together in this new edition, are seeking. of the Autumn Salon, next to the Madrid City Council, which will exhibit the selected and awarded works at the Casa de Vacas in Madrid’s Parque del Retiro from October 29 to November 29 next.

In addition, as also happened since 2017, the Down Madrid Painting Medal is included, which will be awarded to one of its artists, and which is a clear example of inclusion of this group in the world of fine arts, so that the winner will see his work exhibited in the Casa de Vacas along with the rest of professional and new artists. A great opportunity to make visible a group endowed with extraordinary sensitivity.

The bases of the 87 Autumn Salon contemplate the modalities of painting, sculpture, drawing, engraving and watercolor, among which a total of 21 prizes will be distributed, distributed in ten prizes of free access (two specific for sculpture, one for watercolor and the rest of painting and sculpture indistinctly) and eleven more honorary awards, reserved for AEPE members (four for painting, four for sculpture, one for watercolor, one for drawing and one for engraving).

The publication of the bases does not imply that the deadline for the presentation of works is open, which can be verified in the week of September 28 to next October 2, and it is contemplated that all artists may attend with works of theme and free technique.

Each participant may present as many works as they deem appropriate, in formats adapted to facilitate greater participation, since the minimum size of the works will be 46 cm, and the maximum size will be 200.

Among all the participants, there will be a selection of works that will make up the exhibition of award-winning and selected works from the 87th Autumn Salon, which can be seen at the Casa de Vacas in Madrid’s Parque del Buen Retiro, and which in recent editions has managed to generate great expectations due to the high quality of the collected works.

The rules and the registration form can now be downloaded from this website, “Contests and Prizes” tab, “Rules” subtab, and on the same tab, “Autumn Salon” subtab and right here, below.

Despite the adverse weather, and as has always been the case that the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors inaugurates an exhibition at the Casa de Vacas del Retiro, on several occasions it was necessary to close the access to the Center, due to the excess of capacity, opening the same as he was evicting, which gives an idea of the tremendous success and great expectation that always raises the Autumn Salon in Madrid.
The presentation of the act was in charge of the Secretary General of the AEPE, Mª Dolores Barreda Pérez, who addressed those present to remember that “the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors has 109 years of history. Thanks to calls such as the one that brings us together today, we are still serving years. From the Board of Directors we only want to thank partners, friends, general public, sponsor, collaborators and institutions, your full support for our continued work for the benefit of art and artists. Since 1910, 109 years later, we continue to make culture. To all, thank you very much. ”
He explained later that this year and for the first time, the Board of Directors had agreed to invite Chinese artists to participate, thus fostering a very important cultural exchange, thanking the assistance of the prestigious sculptor Dong Yang, especially from Shanghai to this 86th Autumn Hall.

Afterwards, and as it has been traditional, the honorary award given annually by the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors was presented at the opening ceremony. The Secretary General requested the rise to the stage of journalist, writer and Planeta Prize, Javier Sierra, proceeding to read the designation:
“The Board of Directors of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, meeting in ordinary session on June 18, 2019, has unanimously agreed to grant the title of SOCIO DE HONOR to Javier Sierra, whose collaboration and close friendship with the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors is becoming stronger and more committed.
“Journalist and writer, whose human profile surpasses the professional; man of integrity, simple, human, helpful, humble, attentive, whose smile triggers unusual diplomacies, and who like himself likes to describe himself, has the job of curious.
In recognition of his friendship and exemplarity, his enormous prestige and for having contributed in a relevant way to the significance of our entity, appreciating the activities that the association promotes and responding to the foundational objectives of fostering relations between the art world and the creation.
As a sign of our gratitude for their continued support, accompaniment and complicity in the work of this Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, and in recognition of their trajectory in the field of research and dissemination of art, highlighting the contribution that with their works He has managed to bring the world of art closer to millions of readers around the world.
To all the artists, he has also seduced us in a game of intrigues and mysteries of which he is a master, but above all, he has launched a special invitation to the world to visit one of the best art galleries such as the Prado Museum, with which he is Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors has always kept a close relationship, since some of its Presidents were also directors of it.
That millions of people discover through their pen wonderful works of art under a new vision, is the great legacy that we thank today through this appointment that prides not only our entity, our Partners and friends, but the artists from all over the world. world.
It is in this way that we would like to thank you for pushing us to look for the soul of each artist through his works and making art a window to the invisible, to the truly valuable that the human being harbors.
For all this, we are pleased to name Javier Sierra, Honorary Member of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors. ”

Afterwards, the President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, José Gabriel Astudillo, addressed the attendees in which he thanked the work of the Jury, the collaborating institutions, Maxam and its Foundation, as well as all the artists who make the contest possible. He also wanted to highlight the work of his Board of Directors, making special mention of the continuous, constant and always effective work of the General Secretary, Mª Dolores Barreda Pérez, which he described as the authentic “alma mater” of the centenary entity.
It was at that time when, outside of any protocol, he proceeded to read an Addendum to the Minutes of the meeting of the Board of Directors on June 18, 2019, in which it is explained that taking advantage of an absence of the General Secretary of the entity, Mª Dolores Barreda Pérez, responsible for raising the official minutes of the session, and with the unanimity of the members of the Board, it was agreed to distinguish Mª Dolores Barreda Pérez with the title of PERPETUAL SECRETARY OF THE SPANISH ASSOCIATION OF PAINTS AND SCULPTORS, in recognition to his excellent and unstoppable work and dedication to the entity.
We believe that it is fair to recognize the work of those people who are exceptional and essential in the art world, people who make real the saying that success always precedes work.
All the partners enjoy that success thanks to the attitude and work of those who make us bigger every day as an institution and ensure that day by day is attended not only diligently, but correctly and in a gratifying way. That is why this institution is better every day and provides an image of seriousness and prestige that, as I said, benefits everyone.
Placing a centennial entity of the first order in the 21st century has been an important challenge that our Secretary General has amply achieved in a work model that not only is the most successful, but that more than meets and exceeds the expectations generated in this regard. .
Modernization, transparency and attention and closeness to the needs of the associates have been an unwritten rule with which it has managed to awaken the spirit of our entity and thus contribute to the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors has developed as a diversified institution and open to the outside, until it becomes a modern and prosperous reality.
But in addition, preserving the history and heritage of the entity has been a priority in the work of Mª Dolores Barreda Pérez, who is carrying out through the Historical Archive “Bernardino de Pantorba”, a project that has crossed borders and makes us captain the research work on the history of art in Spain in the 20th century.
Its involvement is also leading us to recover the memory of the first artists of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors and to be present, in this way, in the most important cultural events celebrated in Spain for this reason.
In the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors we have the honor of having magnificent artists, with exemplary people who have achieved success with a lot of work, dedication and talent.
And one of them is Mª Dolores Barreda Pérez, journalist, Director of the Gazette of Fine Arts, researcher, art historian, member of the Spanish Association of Art Critics but, above all, a magnificent person of overwhelming personality, who is of justice recognize and applaud his special dedication and dedication, his good work, full of commitment and honesty, his charisma, authenticity and talent.
The Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors is increasingly prestigious and great because it knows how to recognize those who have a special talent and feel committed to making their work an engine for the expansion of that talent.
That is why Mª Dolores Barreda Pérez is a good portrait of the entity we want, with values and that values work, the desire to improve and the shared effort. It is the portrait of those people who fight every day for art, for artists, for culture and who do it also, investing a time, effort and a totally altruistic will and that must be recognized,
An entity is worthy of admiration when its members are too and when it treats those admirable people as they deserve. That is why we have the obligation to recognize this merit and in this way the Board of Directors of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors wants to do it on behalf of all its partners, because making our entity better is a matter for everyone. Only in this way do we achieve that the best years of the artistic history of Spain are those that lie ahead, those that remain to be lived and those that remain to be written.

And so we signed it in Madrid, on June 18, 2019, the rest of the members of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, keeping this resolution secret until the delivery of the distinction, which will take place within the framework of the Opening ceremony of the 86th Autumn Salon held at the Casa del Vacas of Madrid’s Parque del Retiro on November 7, 2019.
Excited and visibly surprised, Mª Dolores Barreda Pérez picked up a plaque from the President and with the emotion of the moment, she was only able to thank everyone for the immense honor that the appointment entails, since in the entire history of the centenary entity, only There has been a Perpetual Secretary whose memory draws on countless historical accounts of the AEPE.

The 85th Autumn Salon opens on November 7

The 85 Salón de Otoño opened yesterday November 1, 2018, the doors of its exhibition at the Casa de Vacas in Madrid’s Parque del Buen Retiro.

The exhibition, which can be seen until the 25th of the same month, will reach its most awaited day next Wednesday, November 7, at 7:00 p.m. when the jury’s decision, award ceremony and official opening of the 85th AEPE Autumn Salon, a much anticipated grand gala in the cultural autumn exhibition calendar.
The 85th Autumn Salon of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, is the oldest and most prestigious artistic call that is being held in Spain, and is sponsored by the Maxam Foundation, although it has other collaborators such as the City Council of Madrid, Tritoma Cultural Management, the City Council of Getafe, the Baluarte Hall of the City Council of Tres Cantos, Encuentro Real Estate, the Codina Sculpture Foundry, the sculptor Santiago de Santiago, the Spanish Association of Watercolor Painters, the More Hispanic Cultural Association and the Down Madrid Foundation.
The 85 Salón de Otoño will distribute a total of 21 prizes in the modalities of painting, sculpture, drawing, engraving and watercolor, distributed in ten prizes of free access (two specific of sculpture, one of watercolor and the rest of painting and sculpture indistinctly) and eleven more honorary prizes, reserved for members of the AEPE (four for painting, four for sculpture, one for watercolor, one for drawing and one for engraving).
The Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors works in a line of innovative culture, that is, it does not look for a display of prizes that suppose an economic endowment, but an excellence that transforms into the dissemination of the work and the artist, and that, as he confesses the President of the AEPE, José Gabriel Astudillo, supposes not to endow financially the prizes, but to be creative and to channel to the selected and awarded ones in the difficult way of the artistic creation.
In addition, as happened also last year, includes the Down Madrid Painting Medal, which will be awarded to one of its artists, and which is a clear example of inclusion of this group in the world of fine arts, so that the winner will see his work exhibited in the Casa de Vacas together with the rest of the professional and novice artists. A great opportunity to make visible a collective endowed with an extraordinary sensitivity.

Inaugurated the exhibition of the Baluarte Sala Awards 84 Fall Salon 2017

The exhibition opens its doors from October 5 to November 18

The Baluarte Room opened its doors on October 5 to the exhibition of the painters Mariana Álvarez Enrique, Inés San Miguel González, Oliva Belinchón Casado and Margarita Gámez Cornejo, winners of the Sala Baluarte Prize, awarded by the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors ( AEPE) in the 84 Madrid Autumn Salon. The award consisted of an exhibition of his artistic proposals in the prestigious Baluarte Room of Tres Cantos, with free admission.

The inauguration was attended, in addition to the artists, by the President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, José Gabriel Astudillo, the General Secretary of the centenary entity, Mª Dolores Barreda Pérez, as well as other members of the Board of Directors. The event was attended by the Mayor of Tres Cantos, Jesús Moreno, accompanied by the Councilor for Culture, Elisa Lida Miguel and the Director of the Baluarte Room, Teresa Ramos Grosso, who said they were “delighted to be able to present for the second consecutive year the sample of the “Sala Baluarte” Awards, which this year have fallen to four women “.

The Autumn Salon of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, is the event that marks the artistic trend of the city of Madrid. It is also the oldest and most prestigious artistic call of those held in Spain and in the words of José Gabriel Astudillo López, President of the AEPE, “at the Salon de Otoño there are institutions such as the City Council of Tres Cantos, through its prestigious Sala Baluarte, because they understand that it is a contest in which the quality of the selected and awarded works, proves an expository proposal like the one that forms the magnificent sample that we inaugurated “.

For their part, the artists thanked the municipal officials for their work in support of the art they are doing and wanted to recognize the efforts made by the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors every day, for maintaining prestigious activities such as the Autumn Salon or the Queen Sofia Award, next to be called too.

Mariana Álvarez Enrique

Mariana’s work has a strong social content. He talks to us about difficult lives, and he wants us to look at them, so we do not miss out. It forces us to look, but without acrimony (hardness) In fact, and although it is showing us the misery and the scarcity, it always leaves a door open to beauty.

His paintings are a portrait of human diversity and everyday life. This is appreciated in their naturalness: they are a reflection of the day to day. In them, the people themselves speak, tell their story, happy many times, despite their poverty.

Inés San Miguel González

the work of Inés San Miguel González is of an abstract dye in which soft colors and firm and studied strokes predominate and where there are always references to people whose expressiveness, together with the very conception of the work, never leaves the viewer indifferent.

Olive Belinchón Married

The works of Oliva Belinchón present a multiple vision of the receiver, that is, they simulate the multiplicity of looks at the same time and from different angles on the part of the receiver. However, often the abstract is barely perceptible and other times, on the other hand, it is more complete and remarkable because his works do not seek perfection in representation and refuse to reflect the outside world.

Margarita Gámez Cornejo

Margarita Gámez has used any pretext to make plastic. For that reason in its trajectory they can exist landscapes, personages, bodegones, heads, etc. The result is your look at the world, your unique response. Your opinion with soul, what is expressionism? In the painting of Margarita Gámez there are no formulas, there is life. Degree in Fine Arts from the Complutense University, she was awarded a scholarship by the Landscape Chair in Segovia.

Last October 3, the selection and qualification jury meeting took place, which will be the 84th edition of the traditional Salón de Otoño, the oldest event of those celebrated in Spain and the most prestigious of them all by the category of the awards it awards.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition, which will remain open until November 26, will be attended by different personalities from the world of arts and letters, as well as sponsors and members of the Jury, who will deliver the awards.
It is noteworthy the enormous effort being made by the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors to make the traditional Salon of Autumn a benchmark in Spanish artistic life, and as José Gabriel Astudillo comments, “for our institution has been a great triumph to achieve such a high level of participation and with such quality, and it has been a great success, and a remarkable achievement, to achieve such a reliable decision guaranteed by a jury composed of such important and representative figures from the art world in Spain. ”
“The Salón de Otoño is a call to which artists come running away from selfishness, immodesty and adulation, because it is a unique artistic manifestation because it is of a breadth of judgment, a nobility and a lack of interest that, will not hit understand the majority of the public and even the artists themselves, “says Astudillo, as” it is not a matter of winning an economic prize, it is a reward that every artist seeks, for the pleasure of enjoying one of his prestigious awards. ”
As Astudillo assures us, the main thing about the Salón de Otoño “is the discovery of the young values and the possibility that gives us our call to be visible before the specialized critic and public opinion in general, being a platform of discovery of new promises, spirit with which was born the Hall of Autumn and with which it endures today “.
The Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors works in a line of innovative culture, that is to say, it does not look for a display of prizes that suppose an economic endowment, but an excellence that becomes a diffusion of the work and the artist, and that, as he confesses the President of the AEPE, José Gabriel Astudillo, does not endow the prizes financially, but rather be creative and channel the selected and awarded in the difficult path of artistic creation.
This is manifested in the way art is understood in a society, acquiring a commitment of support and new opportunities to those who can be seen through the Autumn Fair, enhancing their artistic project in a way that supports artists with resources in the that bets clearly and forcefully by his work.
The Autumn Fair is sponsored by the Maxam Foundation, which at the opening ceremony will also present the traditional calendar of the former Spanish Union of Explosives (UEE), and for which historical memories of posters such as that of Romero of Torres, Cecilio Plá or Manuel Benedito or the most modern of Canogar, Genovés, Eduardo Arroyo or Urculo.
Recognizing talent is just what entities like INTERESARTE TV, Tritoma Gestión Cultural, the City Council of Getafe, Codina Escultura, Sala Baluarte, Santiago de Santiago and the Spanish Association of Watercolorists, who join in this new edition of the Salón de Otoño together to the City Council of Madrid, which will showcase the works selected and awarded in the House of Cows of the Madrid Park Retiro from 27 October to 27 November next.

Thanks to the special collaboration of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors with the CULTURAL ASSOCIATION MORE HISPANO, and given the success of last year, a series of Concerts of the Salon de Otoño, of Spanish music of the XII century to the XX, interpreted by the best musicians of the moment, that throughout the month November and in this House of Cows, they will put the soundtrack of this great celebration of the art that supposes the Hall of Autumn.
In this way the AEPE tries to emulate the first Autumn Salons, in which they were programmed all kinds of cultural activities and not only related to the world of Fine Arts.
For the first time in addition, and as a result of the collaboration between Down Madrid and the historic AEPE, the Medal of Painting Down Madrid will also be awarded to one of its artists, which is a clear example of inclusion of this group in the world of fine arts, so that the winner will see his work exhibited at Casa de Vacas along with the rest of professional and novice artists. A great opportunity to make visible a group with an extraordinary sensitivity.

The AEPE on Fair Saturday

The Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors will participate next Saturday, November 26 in Fair Saturday, with the exhibition of the winning and selected works at the 83 Salón de Otoño, which will be exhibited at the Casa de Vacas in Madrid, Parque del Buen Retiro, The hand of SOS Children’s Villages of Spain.

José Gabriel Astudillo, President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, is enthusiastic that the general public and lovers of art and creation, are included throughout the organization, in a great movement and social show like Fair Saturday , And that the same, help to value the work of artists as engines of social and economic transformation.

And next to everyone, the AEPE, the artists, the 83rd Autumn Fair, SOS Children’s Villages of Spain, the sponsor and collaborators of the traditional exhibition, such as the Maxam Foundation, El Corte Inglés, INTERESARTE, Codina Foundry, Tritoma Cultural Management, Tres Cantos Town Hall Bastion, Getafe City Council, Santiago de Santiago, the Spanish Association of Watercolorists and the Cultural Association “More Hispano”.

Astudillo has always been very optimistic with the answer that this type of actions can have the society, since it is to approach the public to the authentic culture. With Fair Saturday, Astudillo deepens, “we will all win. Artists, creators, cultural entities, social projects, the cultural industry in general … and above all, society will win. We will be building among all a society more beautiful and more sensitive to the needs of others. And all this, through art “.

In addition, remember that the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors has been doing art for 106 years, organizing activities, exhibitions, concerts and promoting the creation in Spain.
