Inaugurated the exhibition “Solo Art” of the AEPE

On December 4, 2019, in the Spring Room of the Casa del Reloj Cultural Center of the Municipal Board of Arganzuela, the inauguration and awards ceremony of the “Solo Arte” contest, organized by the AEPE, took place and was consolidated in the exhibition calendar of the centennial entity, thanks to the high participation of the partners.
The event was chaired by José Gabriel Astudillo López, President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors and Antonio Téllez de Peralta, Paloma Casado, Carmen Bonilla Carrasco, Fernando de Marta y Ana Martínez Córdoba.


The exhibition, which can be visited until December 26, has had a total of 55 works between winners and selected, and has included two honorary awards: the Antonio Muñoz Degrain Painting Medal and the Julio Antonio Sculpture Medal, as deserved tribute to the founding masters of the centenary entity, in addition to three Honorable Mentions.


The jury in charge of performing the selection and qualification work has been formed by José Gabriel Astudillo López, President of the AEPE and Ana Martínez Córdoba, Treasurer of the AEPE, acting as President and Secretary of the Jury, respectively, both with voice and without vote; and as Members Alicia Sánchez Carmona, Antonio Téllez de Peralta, Fernando de Marta, Paloma Casado and Carmen Bonilla Carrasco, all of them executives of the AEPE and Paloma Ramírez-Montesinos, painter and partner of the AEPE chosen at random.
The awards ceremony was presented at the opening ceremony, which turned out to be the following:

Opened the IV Hall of Abstract Art

On April 3 took place the opening ceremony of the IV Hall of Abstract Art of the AEPE whose works are exhibited in the Exhibition Halls “Juana Francés” and “Pablo Serrano” of the District Board of Tetouan until the 29th of the same month , and in which a total of 50 works are exhibited, among more than a hundred of those presented to this contest organized by the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors.
The inauguration ceremony was chaired by the President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, José Gabriel Astudillo, the Vice President of the entity, Juan Manuel López-Reina, and the Members Alicia Sánchez Carmona, as well as other members of the Board of Directors and the Councilor of Tetuán, Montserrat Galcerán, who did not want to miss this event.


At the opening ceremony, the jury minutes and the awards ceremony were read. On this occasion, the jury was chaired by José Gabriel Astudillo López, President of the AEPE and Mª Dolores Barreda Pérez, Secretary General of the AEPE, acting as President and Secretary of the Jury, respectively, both with voice and without vote; and as members of the board of directors Antonio Téllez de Peralta, Paloma Casado, Fernando de Marta, Ana Martínez Córdoba and the painter and randomly chosen partner Helen Fernández.

According to José Gabriel Astudillo, President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, the interest of the Board of Directors that presides over supporting this Abstract Art Salon took two years ago to the creation of two awards, the José María López Painting Medal Mosque and the Angel Ferrant and Vázquez Sculpture Medal, both founding partners and outstanding artists who are honored in this way, as well as the Honorable Mentions that the Jury has deemed appropriate.

The work titled “OP 182411”, by Flórez de Uría, has been awarded with the José María López Mezquita Painting Medal,

while the work of Carmelo Esteban, whose title is “Maternidad”, has obtained the Ángel Ferrant Sculpture Medal and Vázquez.

In addition, the Jury has awarded two Honorable Mentions to the works of Felix Gala

and Manuel Hernández
