Published the bases of the 39 AEPE Small Format Contest

The Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors has just published the rules for the 39th Small Format Competition, to be held from October 5 to 29, 2020, in the Exhibition Hall of the Moncloa Cultural Center, expressly assigned for the occasion by the Municipal Board of Moncloa-Aravaca, a call that is open to artists, whether or not they are members of the century-old entity.

The deadline for sending photos ends on September 21, and with a free technique and theme, the maximum measurements of the works will not exceed 65 cm.

Small format painting is a synthesis of the minimum and yet it is complete, complete, surprising and satisfying. Working in a reduced format allows immediacy, creative experimentation, wasted imagination, the display of color that we do not address in larger-scale works.

From this pictorial tradition, the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors annually convenes the Small Format Contest which is always a great success both in the participation of the members and in the quality of the works presented.

They are large works, despite their small format, which never leave us indifferent because they contain, in the same way as a precious and very expensive essence, the best of the feelings of the wonderful artists who make up our entity.

The Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors expressly created for this event two medals and rewards that honor the memory of our founders: the Francisco Pradilla Painting Medal and the Juan Bautista Adsuara Sculpture Medal.
