Virtual exhibition of the V Abstract Art Hall of the AEPE has been inaugurated

On May 7, the first virtual exhibition of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors was inaugurated, the first in its 110-year history.

To do this, the President of the AEPE, José Gabriel Astudillo, sent a communication to all the members in which he invited them to go to the website, in the “Contests and Awards” tab, sub-tab “Abstract Art Salon”, where a gallery of photographs of the more than 150 works that have been presented at this first unequaled event already hangs.

In his communication, the President told us:

Dear partners and friends,

In the hope that you feel well, I am writing these words to inform you that, as you already know, the V Salon of Abstract Art modified its bases to adapt it to the times we live in, thus becoming the first virtual exhibition of the AEPE.

All this has been thanks to your participation and despite the fact that we would have liked to inaugurate it together with you, current circumstances have not made this possible.

That is why we have adapted the contents to the web environment that we will make public tomorrow, May 7, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. moment in which the exhibition of the V ABSTRACT ART ROOM OF THE AEPE will be virtually inaugurated.

I invite you to join us from home through the following link: http://www.apintoresyescultores.es/i-salon-de-arte-abstracto-vv/

The whole team of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors sends you a big hug and just wants you to enjoy it.

As you can see, we continue to make history … with a lot of art !!!!!

We wait for you,

José Gabriel Astudillo López

President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors

In the link of this same website, you will also find the list of participants, partners and friends of art that are already part of our history, as well as the gallery of works and the digital catalog that the President introduced us thus:

“In December 2019, the 5th Abstract Art Salon of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors was convened, which was to be held from April 2 to 29, 2020, in the” Juana Francés “and” Pablo Serrano “Exhibition Rooms, donated by the Tetuán District Board.

Nobody expected that an event like the one that is shaking the world and especially Spain, will shake our lives in this way and change us so much to the way of making and sharing art.

Shortly after the pandemic began, we understood that it was useless to even celebrate the exhibition of the V Salon of Abstract Art, when the 55 Reina Sofía Prize for Painting and Sculpture and the Clock House still hung on the walls of the Casa de Vacas , the 110 AEPE exhibition, which celebrated the anniversary of the foundation of our institution.

With the desire to continue transmitting art, to share art, to create and recreate the world, we undertook actions to turn this great event into what will be the first virtual exhibition in the history of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, with the that partners and friends, art lovers, continue to make history.

This is the time to leave our mark on history.

The current circumstances caused by the COVID-19 crisis have caused a large number of companies or entities to cease their activity. The Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors has continued to work to give visibility to artists and promote art, all through a series of virtual tools that help us meet their goals.

With the digital world as a border, we decided to continue with the scheduled exhibitions, in order to celebrate the V AEPE Abstract Art Salon, virtually through the different promotional media that the AEPE has been working with for years: the website, YouTube channel, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Google Arts & Culture

Participation was completely free, so that all those who had already paid for the registration were reimbursed the amount, taking into account that in this exceptional case no prizes will be awarded.

Without any limitation in terms of technique, having to adapt themselves to the theme of the contest in question, the artists have expressed their particular vision of abstract art, because we know that in the confluence of styles and avant-gardes, abstract art needs to have its own space and well-defined visibility, and under these premises, make this art transcend in the representation of the external appearance of things, posing plastic searches that point rather to the formal, chromatic and structural aspects, so that use the most essential resources of plastic language to try to create an autonomous language that evokes your own senses.

Thus we celebrate the virtual exhibition of the V Salon of Abstract Art with such exceptional circumstances, but with the intention of making this event a well-deserved meeting whose result is what we can see in this magnificent exhibition and in which we managed to make this event a great one. opportunity to present the talent and quality that each and every one of the members of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors has, whom I am especially honored to represent.

Without a doubt, it is a unique opportunity to participate in exhibitions that will remain forever on the web, with which the AEPE continues to make history.

As I was saying, this is the time to leave our mark on history.

And together, we will succeed. ”

It was an ideal moment in which the AEPE also wanted to convey its gratitude to the artists who work in it. And it turned out to be an excellent occasion also to convey enthusiasm and desire to continue growing together.

Javier Sierra presented the secondseason of ‘Other Worlds’

The presentation was attended by the President and the Secretary General of the AEPE

The new season of the Other Worlds series by the writer from Javier Javier Sierra is here. IFEMA in Madrid welcomed the “prologue” to the second season on Monday night before a small number of people.

The first Vice President of the Government of Spain, Carmen Calvo, as well as Manuel Blasco, senator of the PP for Teruel, Mohamed El Gammal, counselor of the Egyptian Embassy in Spain, four Planet Awards: Fernando Sánchez Dragó, Carmen Posadas , Javier Moro and Espido Freire; historical novelists such as Almudena de Arteaga, Nacho Ares and Antonio Pérez Henares; essayists like Jesús Callejo, Enrique de Vicente, Ángel Gaona, Pedro Ortega, Nacho Ares and Manuel Berrocal, communicators such as Cristina López-Schlichting, Ignacio Elguero, Isabel Lobo; the President and the General Secretary of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, José Gabriel Astudillo and Mª Dolores Barreda Pérez; representative of the Spanish Society of Anthropology and Popular Traditions, Ramos Perera; representatives of the sport such as mountaineer César Pérez de Tudela and accredited professionals in the world of film and television.

After the presentation, it was the Egyptologist Nacho Ares who served as a guide in a private visit of a small group of friends, of the exhibition “Tutankhamun, the tomb and its treasures”, in which to continue the fantastic chapter with which the opening Second season of the series.

“The four chapters of the new series continue with the adventures of a young Javier Sierra and how he is gradually becoming interested, and with increasing intensity, in the mysteries that surround us,” Fernando Jerez told IFEMA, director of non-fiction content of Movistar +. “But what we can see this Christmas on channel # 0 is an Egyptian preamble to those chapters that will arrive in February. Sierra wanted to give us his passion for Egypt, which is also ours, approaching his favorite pharaonic enigmas in two special episodes that we will see on December 22 and 29, and then will be available on demand on our platform. ”

Javier Sierra explained that, how could it be otherwise, the first of those chapters – the one that was screened at the premiere in scoop – is dedicated to the night that Napoleon spent at the Great Pyramid of Giza in August 1799. “That history has become an obsession for me, ”he admitted.

“After I locked myself up one night in the Chamber of the King of the Great Pyramid trying to understand what happened to Napoleon in there, my perception of the world changed. Somehow I felt like dying… and whoever dies and returns from that trance, necessarily mutates. ” Sierra published a few years ago The Immortal Pyramid (Planet), a novel on this issue; He has now filmed this chapter entitled “The Pyramid Test,” and plans to launch a comic on the issue with NORMA Editorial at the end of 2020. “Yes. It is an obsession, ”he reaffirmed.

The new episodes feature remarkable cinematographic sequences shot inside the Great Pyramid and the Abydos temple, in southern Egypt. “The talent of director Alfonso Cortés-Cavanillas stands out again, filming in places often hostile to state-of-the-art technological equipment, where recording is a feat,” said Sierra.

The pyramid test can be seen on channel # 0 next Sunday, December 22, at 10 pm. And a week later, The Enigma of Omm Seti, at the same time. For the rest, we will have to wait two months. Meanwhile, the shooting of the Other Worlds team.
