Changes in the Board of Directors of AEPE

On May 29, 2018, the then Vice President of the AEPE, Juan de la Cruz Pallarés García, formalized his resignation for strictly personal reasons, in the Board of Directors held that same afternoon.

On June 5, 2018, and also on the Board of Directors, the new Vice President was appointed, a position accepted by the Board member Juan Manuel López Reina Cosso until now.

In addition, and as it had become vacant a post of Vocal, after the resignation of Alberto Martín Giraldo, and as reinforcement of the work that is being done, the President also appointed on June 5, two new Members, partners and acquaintances of all : Paloma Casado López and Antonio Téllez de Peralta.

The Minister of Culture and the AEPE hold a working meeting

Yesterday Monday December 11, at 11 h. attended the office of the Minister of Culture, Education and Sports, Iñigo Méndez de Vigo, the President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, José Gabriel Astudillo López, the Vice President of the entity, Juan de la Cruz Pallarés García, the General Secretary of the AEPE, Mª Dolores Barreda Pérez and the Presidency Advisor, Itziar Zabalza Murillo.


Summoned expressly by the Minister, the representatives of the AEPE informed Mr. Méndez de Vigo of the different activities, contests, exhibitions and proposals carried out by the centenary entity, with special mention of the recently convened 53 Reina Sofia Painting Prize and Sculpture and the Autumn Salon, which in 2018 will reach its 85th edition.
In addition, the Historical Archive “Bernardino de Pantorba”, which he promised to present publicly in his ministry and which has the sponsorship of the Maxam Foundation, as well as the next exhibition tribute to Francisco López and Isabel Quintanilla that in the month of May, were the subject. It will take place in the historic city of Toledo.
The President of the AEPE, José Gabriel Astudillo, especially invited the Minister to “proudly welcome an entity that historically has represented so much for art in Spain and that has always been linked to the Ministry of Culture, sharing our founders and partners, responsibilities of different nature in ministries and institutions. ”
For his part, the Minister recalled having knowledge of our entity through the participation of the AEPE in the Google Cultural Institute through the exhibition “CervARTES”, and having also greeted the presentation that took place in the Reina Sofia Museum, to our President and Vice President. Pablo Rubén López, winner of the XVII Fast Painting Contest of Getafe

Last Sunday 25th September took place the XVII Fast Paint Contest of Getafe, which as happened in the last edition, had the special collaboration of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors.

Magnificently organized by the cultural services of the City Council of Getafe, led by Javier Romero Muñoz, Technical Coordinator of Culture, the contest counted on the participation of half a hundred artists, highly motivated by such stimulating call.

The Jury was formed by Raquel Alcázar Ballesteros, Councilor for Culture of the City Council of Getafe, representing the Mayoress, Sara Hernández, Jose Gabriel Astudillo López, President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, Alejandro Aguilar Soria, Multidisciplinary Artist, Commissioner and Galerista, Juan de la Cruz Pallares Garcia, artist and specialist in fast painting and Javier Rubio Nomblot, Art critic and Commissioner.

It is noteworthy that for this event, the style and technique have been free, while the obligatory theme was the open spaces of Getafe, its landscapes, buildings, streets and squares, an objective that was achieved with a high level of quality in the awarded works , an impeccable organization and with a meritorious purpose, which focuses on “promoting painting and supporting artists”, a motivation that it shares with the AEPE, which in a special way has been supporting these artistic manifestations of recognized relevance.

The First Prize, endowed with 1,500 euros, was for an original watercolor by Pablo Rubén López. The Second Prize, endowed with 1,000 euros went to Ramón Córdoba Calderón. The winners of the children category were Elia Chillón (5 to 7 years) and Francisco Guzmán (8 to 11 years), while in the youth category was Carlota Iglesias.

Pablo Rubén López, winner of the First Prize, is a well-known Madrid-based watercolorist who deserves great prizes both in Spain and in other countries and has important awards such as the 147th Exhibition American Watercolor Society of Nueva Yor or the Army Prize of the Air of Madrid.

The same happens with Ramón Córdoba Calderón, winner of the Second Prize, to whom both the public and the participants recognized the great works signed yesterday.

The President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, José Gabriel Astudillo, wishes to point out the “great work” carried out in the organization of this contest that already reaches its edition number XVII and is established as one of the main celebrations in Spain, and the “support and collaboration” of the entity that presides, as well as the effort that the City of Getafe has been doing in favor of culture.

The Mayoress, Sara Hernández together with the Councilor for Culture, Raquel Alcázar and the members of the jury of AEPE (Spanish Association of painters and sculptors) held the awards ceremony in the middle of the afternoon, and wanted to make the day an authentic festival of culture , since throughout the morning there was a lot of animation in the Plaza de la Constitución in Madrid, with painted faces, tempera painting, paint with chalk, etc. which delighted the attending audience and participants in general.

The last survivor of the School of Paris, painter and engraver Juan Mayor, yesterday received the Medal of Honor of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, surrounded by many friends and partners who do not want to miss this simple tribute which was also attended by the Infanta Elena, a friend and admirer of the artist.
The presidential table was made by the President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, José Gabriel Astudillo Lopez, by the Vice President of the centennial entity, Juan de la Cruz Pallares Garcia for the honoree, Juan Mayor, the General Secretary of the AEPE , Mª Dolores Pérez Barreda and the President of the Spanish Association of Art Critics, Tomas Paredes, who declined not miss the emotional event with such a great creator.

Tomorrow I Realistic Hall Art opens AEPE

The Exhibition Hall of the Cultural Center La Vaguada of Madrid hosts from tomorrow on 14 October to 4 November, the First Hall of Realist Art AEPE organized by the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, for which have been selected a total of 48 works (including 10 sculptures) from among the more than hundred submitted to this contest, for which they have been well and specially invited twelve renowned authors of this discipline.

The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, José Gabriel Astudillo, Vice President of the entity, Juan de la Cruz Pallares, the General Secretary, Maria Dolores Barreda Pérez, as well as various members of the Board.

The Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors was required by the cultural center La Vaguada for two great and ambitious samples which resulted in the creation of two very opposite and different salons, but in which all partners have no place.

Jaime Jurado Gordon, winner of Fast Painting Contest XVI Getafe

On Sunday 25 September the XVI Contest Quick Getafe, which for this edition has had the special collaboration of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors Painting was held.

The first prize of 2,500 euros was for Jaime Jurado cord. The second prize of 1,500 euros was awarded to Juan Manuel Campos Guisado. The Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors and the Iberoamerican Tribute to Guitar Casasimarro (Cuenca)

The Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors in 1985 convened the Second National Exhibition Anthological Guitar, coinciding with the III Iberoamerican Homage to the Guitar, which was honored artist Second Pastor and had as country of honor to Argentina.

MAXAM and AEPE signed the Cooperation Agreement for the Salon d’Automne 83
