Inaugurated the 56 Contest of San Isidro de la AEPE

On May 7, the opening ceremony of the 56th San Isidro Contest of Madrid theme took place, the works of which are exhibited in the La Lonja Exhibition Hall, from the Casa del Reloj Cultural Center of the Arganzuela District Board, until the 16th. same month, and in which a total of 51 works are exhibited, among more than a hundred of those presented to this contest organized by the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors.
The inauguration ceremony was chaired by the President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, José Gabriel Astudillo, who was accompanied by the Vice President, Juan Manuel López-Reina, of the Secretary General of the AEPE, Mª Dolores Barreda Pérez, of the Members Antonio Téllez de Peralta, Paloma Casado and Carmen Bonilla Carrasco, as well as a large group of partners and friends who did not want to miss this event.
At the opening ceremony, the jury minutes and the awards ceremony were read. On this occasion, the Jury was chaired by José Gabriel Astudillo López, President of the AEPE and Alicia Sánchez Carmona, President and Member of the AEPE, respectively, acting as President and Secretary of the Jury, both with voice and without vote; and as Members, Fernando de Marta Sebastián, Librarian, Ana Martínez Córdoba, Treasurer, Itziar Zabalza Murillo, Adviser to the President and by Enrique López Sardón, painter and partner chosen at random.
According to José Gabriel Astudillo, President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, the interest of the Board of Directors that presides over supporting this traditional contest of Madrid theme, led two years ago to the creation of another award to complete the Medal of Painting Antonio Casero, for which his equivalent was created, the Luis Benedito Vives Sculpture Medal, both founding partners and outstanding artists to whom homage is paid, in addition to the Honorable Mentions that the Jury has deemed appropriate.
The watercolor titled “Andamios Madrid, La Cibeles”, original by Cristina Agulló Tecles, has obtained the Antonio Casero Sanz Painting Medal.


The iron sculpture entitled “Madrid futuro”, by Julio Nuez, has been awarded with the Luis Benedito Vives Sculpture Medal.


In addition, the jury has decided to award three Honorable Mentions to the following works:
“Meninas”, by Naná Messás


“El maestro Velázquez”, by Felipe San Pedro


“Relieve de toro”, by Antonio Téllez de Peralta

Inaugurated the XXXVII Small Format Contest

On November 20, in the Exhibition Hall of the Moncloa Cultural Center, the opening ceremony of the 37th edition of the traditional Small Format Contest took place, a well-attended show that featured a magnificent stage and was presided over by José Gabriel Astudillo López, President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, and which was also attended by the Vice President, Juan Manuel López Reina, the General Secretary, Mª Dolores Barreda Pérez and various members of the Board of Directors, such as the Members Alicia Sánchez Carmona, Antonio Téllez, Carmen Bonilla Carrasco and the Presidency Advisor, Itziar Zabalza Murillo.
The Jury in charge of the selection and qualification of the XXXVII Contest of Small Format has been constituted by: José Gabriel Astudillo López, President of the AEPE, acting as President of the Jury and Mª Dolores Barreda Pérez, Secretary of the AEPE, acting as Secretary of the same, both with voice and without vote; and as Vocalists Paloma Casado and Alicia Sánchez Carmona, both directives of the AEPE, and Rosa María Saz Bueno, painter and partner of the AEPE chosen at random.
The exhibition, which will run until December 12, has 95 works by different authors, and has also had the Francisco Pradilla Painting Medal and Juan Bautista Adsuara Sculpture Medal, as well as several Honorable Mentions.
In the opening ceremony the prizes were handed out, which turned out to be the following:
