The Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors has convened the fourth edition of the Salon of Abstract Art which may attend all artists residing in Spain who wish.
Each author may attend the contest with as many original works as he wishes, the subject and technique being free, making abstract art a sign and symbol, both in its capacity to produce the most varied emotions and in representing the most incredible stimuli.
The contest includes the sections of painting (drawing, engraving and watercolor) and sculpture The minimum size will be 50 x 50 and the maximum of 150 x 150. Each work presented will bear the author’s name, address, title, technique employed and the measures.
The following prizes will be awarded: JOSE MARIA LOPEZ MEZQUITA PAINTING MEDAL, endowed with the Medal and Diploma of the AEPE, the ANGEL FERRANT AND VÁZQUEZ SCULPTURE MEDAL, endowed with AEPE Medal and Diploma and Distinct MENTIONS OF HONOR, endowed with a Diploma. The Qualification Jury may grant the Honorable Mentions that it deems appropriate. The jury, which will designate the award and order of the prizes, will select the works for the exhibition and will be able to resolve any eventuality not foreseen in the bases, will be made up of experts of recognized prestige.
The awarded and selected works will be exhibited in the month of April in the Sala Juana Francés and the Sala Pablo Serrano of the Junta de Tetuán, located in the
Calle Bravo Murillo, 357 in Madrid, and the awards ceremony will be held at the inauguration of the same, whose date will be properly reported.
The dates to be taken into account will be the following:
Photo submission: until March 15, 2019
Physical works presentation end: Tuesday, March 26, 2019
From May 6 to 10, 2019: withdrawal of works from headquarters

The Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors gave on May 11 the prizes corresponding to the II Salon of Abstract Art organized by this centenary entity, in an act attended by a multitude of partners, friends and the public in general, and which also proceeded To the inauguration of the exhibition that consists of more than sixty works, among the works awarded and selected.
The inauguration and awards ceremony was presided over by José Gabriel Astudillo López, President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, who was accompanied by the Vice President of the institution, Juan de la Cruz Pallarés, as well as by Juan Manuel López Reina, Member of the Board, Fernando de Marta y Sebastián, AEPE Librarian, Ana Martínez Córdoba, Treasurer of the AEPE, and numerous public, partners and friends.
On Tuesday, April 25th, at the headquarters of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, the jury for the selection and qualification of the II Salon of Abstract Art took place, presided over by José Gabriel Astudillo López, President of the Spanish Association Of Painters and Sculptors, acting as Secretary of the same acted Alicia Sánchez Carmona, Vocal of the AEPE, both with voice but without vote, also counting as vocals of the same Fernando de Marta and Sebastián, Librarian of the AEPE, Pedro Quesada Sierra, Member of The AEPE and the partner and painter chosen at random Juan Fernandez, who was really surprised and grateful to have been summoned to such an important meeting.

The President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, José Gabriel Astudillo, wished to thank the Madrid City Council, the District Council of Fuencarral El Pardo and the Directorate of the La Vaguada Cultural Center, for their interest in supporting artists and stresses that The exhibition exhibits works by the best contemporary artists of the Spanish artistic scene.
Astudillo also explained the interest of the Board of Directors that presides over the support of this Abstract Art Hall. Two awards have been expressly created: the José María López Mezquita Painting Medal and the Angel Ferrant and Vazquez Sculpture Medal Founding partners and outstanding artists who pay homage.
During the inauguration ceremony, the Jury’s record of the selection and qualification of the Hall was read and the prizes and selected works were announced, which resulted in the following form:
