Another great success of Javier Sierra

Last Friday, November 29, 2019, at the headquarters of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, the writer and journalist, Planeta 2017 Award, and Honorary Partner of our centenary entity, Javier Sierra, revealed to us the mystery that surrounded life of the brilliant artist, architect, engineer and inventor Leonardo da Vinci, coinciding with the exhibition “Leonardo VIVE. Tribute to Leonardo da Vinci ”, which contemplates the tribute of the AEPE to one of the most extraordinary Renaissance artists, who had such an influence on the conception and origin of the most radically modern painting.

In a crowded room of public, the entrance with makeshift chairs had to be enabled so that all attendees could hear what Leonardo was like, being from his best known work, La Gioconda, to others his in which the mystery and winks of the creator, They signed their work by adding personal details that at first glance may go unnoticed.

The presentation of the act was in charge of José Gabriel Astudillo, President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, who thanked Javier Sierra for his willingness to always collaborate with the entity and then gave the floor to Mª Dolores Barreda Pérez, General Secretary of the AEPE, who outlined small brushstrokes of the author’s biography, with special emphasis on his personal achievements, so unusually recognized by institutions and the public.

Then it was Javier Sierra who enchanted the audience over an hour and a half that he knew little by little, leaving the audience with “honey on the lips” and above all, with a lot of questions and a new perspective of the work and life of Leonardo da Vinci.

After the talk, the attendees spoke with the author, who kindly attended to everyone and received the congratulations of a delivered audience that congratulated and summoned the writer to continue telling the mysteries that hide the works of art.

A “master lesson” that everyone can read in the bestseller “The Secret Dinner”, in which Javier Sierra carries out a narrative that reveals what the true sources that Leonardo da Vinci drank to paint the sacred work could be. known from Christendom.

The Last Supper is full of signs that indicate that behind its appearance there is much more than mixed paints: What does the knot on the tablecloth that covers the table mean? Why didn’t he paint the halos of holiness that usually adorn the heads of the apostles or Jesus in other works that represent the same scene? Not even the Passover lamb of the Jewish holiday they celebrated? Why is Leonardo himself portrayed in the play, and also with his back to Christ? Who is the true traitor? And above all, where is the Holy Grail?

Information that always interests artists and the general public, but that told by him, manages to make someone who discovers what Leonardo hides fall in love.

José Gabriel Astudillo, President of the AEPE, has made the introduction of the published catalog with such reason that we reproduce below:

”Leonardo said that great men began great works and working men finished them.

Well, that’s right, Ramón Córdoba combines work and genius, tireless and discovering in each work a painting that without more, has everything. And it is that the trade and the know-how and pleasure, is something that as an artist shows us in each one of the works that he performs and that is as if he wanted us to enjoy and delight with each of his brushstrokes, his lights, his nuances , and in short, his good work to which he has always accustomed us.

This exhibition is a luxury for those of us who will enjoy this colossal show in the cultural center of Sanchinarro ».

The AEPE in China

From the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors we work to give greater visibility to the artist partners and their works. Currently in Spain, the opportunities and the importance attached to art and artists are difficult, which is why from our centennial entity, we have begun to work with the idea of opening a commercial and artistic market with other countries.

The first of these has been China, and through the Shengxinyu Art Institute, a company with which we share the same objectives of providing greater visibility to artists, we have begun to carry out different projects.
As we reported in the Fine Arts Gazette last October, the President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, José Gabriel Astudillo, along with three artist partners selected by the Shengxinyu, Luis Javier Gayá, Ramón Córdoba, and Coro López -Left, they represented the high level of the members of the AEPE and participated in a cultural exchange with Chinese artists.
The appointment took place in the cities of Luzhi and Shanghai. In the first of them, the International Week of the Spanish outdoor painting of China was developed, in which the four artists displaced to the Asian continent, demonstrated their art and mastery and taught practical classes in the natural, painting beautiful landscapes of the canals from the region known as the Chinese Venice, and directing lectures and master classes to a large and very interested group of Chinese artists who came to the call from all corners of the country, and from the US.
Already in Shanghai another type of contacts were developed that starred the President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, José Gabriel Astudillo López, where he visited the studios and workshops of different artists from all over China, with whom he held different interviews for later start a conversation with the main art dealer, one of the most important worldwide and organizer of the Art Fair, as well as cultural centers, specialized art magazines and many other museums in the city.
The Spanish group participated in the Shanghai-Spain Artists Forum, where they analyzed the situation of the world of plastic arts in both countries and that came to reaffirm the excellent relationship that is being maintained with the artists of this country and that without a doubt They will be very fruitful for everyone. In it, the three most prestigious realistic artists from China, the President of the Association of Chinese Artists, the President of the Juvenile Hall of Realistic Painting, the Secretary General of the Shanghai Watercolor Department and a multitude of cultural and artistic personnel from the country participated .

Therefore, from these moments, it is about working in favor of our partners, for which it will be essential to have a dossier that includes from the basic data of the artist, a C.V. of his career, as well as multiple photographs of his work, so that in a quick practical way, now that we are in the digital era, we can exchange all that information and make it fluid and constant, in a continuous flow that interests everyone.
We ask you to prepare a pdf that contains all the information that you believe is most relevant so that from our offices, we can manage through our contacts, the “jump” to the Chinese giant and all the opportunities that it generates.
The most comfortable thing is that you send it to us through our email, with the description of “CHINA”, and to the attention of Itziar Zabalza Murillo, Presidency Advisor, who is in charge of the processing.
The AEPE will send all the documentation received to the International Project of Shengxinyu Art Institute, being this institution the one that will contact the artists directly, if they were interested in their work, and will deal with them about the contracts and clauses of sale or exhibition.

The AEPE to the conquest of China

The President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, José Gabriel Astudillo López, is currently traveling to China, bound for Shanghai, accompanied by AEPE partners Ramón Córdoba Calderón, Coro López-Izquierdo and Luis Javier Gayá, in a promising trip whose main objective is to promote the painting of Spain and open market in the Asian giant.

This first trip is the culmination of the collaboration agreement recently signed by the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors with the entity Xianxia Ling (Qingdao Shengxinyu Artwork Co., Ltd), which organizes artistic activities of all kinds, and helps the painters and Sculptors of Chinese nationality, are more visible internationally through their Wechat platform and Collection magazine.

As a result of this special collaboration and in order to provide greater visibility of Spanish artists and members of the AEPE in China, and of Chinese artists in Spain, the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors has invited to participate in the 86th Hall of Autumn to the Chinese artists (outside the contest and without the possibility of obtaining awards) that have been officially selected by the jury of the AEPE, and whose work will be exhibited in the sample of the awarded and selected works of the 86 Autumn Salon, which of the October 31 to November 24, 2019, will be held at the Casa del Vacas in Madrid’s Parque del Retiro.

In the same way, the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors sent the dossiers and curriculum of more than fifty artists interested in the project, so that the jury appointed by the Chinese entity, chose three Spanish artists, who are already traveling to Shanghai, to the city of Luzhi.

In this first selection of artists, whose only condition at the time of being selected has been to work the realistic landscaping, the jury formed by the Director of the Shengxinyu Art Institut, by the Director of the Collection magazine, the Secretary General of the Association China of Collectors, the President of the Fujian Artists Association, a prestigious Chinese painter, a professor at the Central Academy of Dramatic Arts, and by the Director of the Shengxinyu Art Institute Spain, has selected artist partners Ramón Córdoba, Coro López -Izquierdo and Luis Javier Gaya, to travel, for more than fifteen days in China, demonstrating their art and mastery and giving practical classes in nature, painting landscapes, directing presentations, visiting studios of artists of the country and knowing first-hand their main galleries and museums

In addition, José Gabriel Astudillo López, President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors and representing the centennial entity, and with a busy schedule, will hold a series of meetings with different galleries, Chinese artistic associations, universities and artists in general, with The intention is to promote the Spanish partner artists and the AEPE itself, which will develop an ambitious project whose fruits are beginning to be seen.

“We want to promote the painting of Spain and open the market,” says José Gabriel Astudillo, President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, “China is the first world power in the art market and can be a wonderful shuttle to give greater visibility to the artist partners and thus obtain greater popularity internationally. This is only the first step of a fruitful collaboration in which all, the artist partners, the Spanish fine arts and culture, win ”.

“It will be a wonderful experience that we will share with partners and friends and that we can expand so that more and more artists are able to reach the Chinese public, eager for a market as prestigious as the art of Spain.”

Ramón Córdoba, winner of the XIV Painting Contest “School of Vallecas”

The partner Ramón Córdoba Calderón won the first prize of the XIV Fast Outdoor Painting Competition “Escuela de Vallecas”, to be held on May 12 and whose awards ceremony and inauguration of the exhibition of the works took place last Friday, September 6 at the Francisco Fatou Sociocultural Center (Calle Manuel Vélez, 10).

The event was chaired by Concha Chapa Monteagudo, Councilor President of the District of Villa de Vallecas and was attended by several of the members of the Jury of the contest, among which was the President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, José Gabriel Astudillo, who came accompanied by the Secretary General of the AEPE, Mª Dolores Barreda Pérez and the Presidency Advisor, Itziar Zabalza Murillo.

The Ramón Córdoba Workshop ends with great success

The Workshop of Landscape of the AEPE, that has been imparting in the Madrilenian Park of the Good Retirement of the 16 to the 20 of July of 2018 finalized his classes the past Friday day 20.

The workshop has been run by Ramón Córdoba Calderón, addressing painting outdoors in one of the months that placid can do this task.

The pictorial technique of “plein-air”, or what is the same, to paint in the open air, is a modality that develops from nature and whose will and effort need a strong discipline and a specific technique.

Logically, the main objective of the Workshop has been for the student to acquire something that he did not have before, integrating himself into a process of progressive, cooperative, collaborative learning and by the hand of a great professional of the technique such as Ramón Córdoba Calderón, which has focused on teaching students to acquire methodological procedures to develop through a process of personal research and constant work, an evolution in the theoretical-practical language itself as a professional, oriented to the observation and development of the concept of landscape.

Create, develop and produce images, shapes, objects, environments with which to channel the expression of the sensitivity of each artist and serve as an enrichment of their own experience, studying the different pictorial techniques to elucidate how to solve with creativity and dexterity representation of nature and elements of the landscape.

That has been the key to the success of a workshop that promises to repeat itself in the fall and in another landscape environment that will surely delight lovers of this type of painting.

HOTELS WITH ART of AEPE

A project of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors carried out by the Community of Madrid

Last November, the President of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors held an interview with the Director General of Tourism of the Community of Madrid, Carlos Chaguaceda, in which he explained the idea of making the best hotels in the capital A large exhibition hall where the members of the centenary entity could show their works and also serve as a complaint and encouragement to visitors and customers.

1

The idea, which was not only liked by the General Directorate, but which was supported by the Hotel Business Association of Madrid since its inception, has been profiled until the official inauguration of a first “pilot experience” Place on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, coinciding with ARCO.

For this, AEPE has been insisting its partners for some years, in which artists send photographs of their works and above all, keep us informed about the availability of them, so that at any time Can count on your participation in this and in many other projects that we carry out.

The transformation carried out by the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors in the last four years and which has placed it as one of the main institutions generating culture and art throughout Spain, presents a project that has wanted to be baptized as “HOTELS WITH ARTE “, born with the support of the Community of Madrid and the Hotel Business Association of Madrid, in which the centenary entity, which groups together the best Spanish artists, has searched for incredible and special spaces in which to display their works.

agenda

Hotels with art represent the best spirit of collaboration between entities and the interaction of these with artists, and promises a continuity in time so that each hotel adhering to the project, can present an art space to its visitors in an exclusive way.

2

The hotels thus offer guests a stay among authentic works of the best contemporary art with all the comforts of a hotel of high standing. It is about offering the guests an unforgettable experience: being able to rest in magnificent facilities surrounded by precious works of art of the best artists of the moment.

The project now reaches its plenitude coinciding with ARCO and consists of the inclusion of different pictorial or sculptural pieces (depending on the facilities and available space) in the common areas of the hotel, so that it is possible to bring contemporary art closer to the greatest number Possible of people, giving the opportunity to guests and visitors in general, to interact with art.

The first of the exhibitions that served as a “pilot experience” took place on February 21 and has brought to ten hotels in Madrid the work of eleven of the best painters and sculptors of the moment, artists of recognized prestige, members of the Spanish Association Of Painters and Sculptors. Among the most outstanding pieces are two works by Auguste Rodin, spectacular sculptures of the Codina Casting that will delight the public in comparison with the avant-garde work of the painter Manuel Gracia, already consolidated in the national and international exhibition circuit.

3

Also worthy of note is the presence of the sculptor José Luis Fernández, author of the Goya awards statues or the Dalinian symbolism of Alejandro Aguilar Soria, disciplinary author ranging from the most classic works to the most avant-garde visual poetry, passing through the jovial vision of Sonia Home in destructured landscapes and the veteran colorist perception of maestro Ramón Córdoba, whose outdoor painting is well known in Spain.

The animal motifs of enormous strength and expression run from the hand of Güiomar Alvarez de Toledo, while the absolute finesse and the grandeur of the sculpture of Andres Lasanta, gives force to a composition that nobody will leave indifferent. So it is with the master Luis Javier Gayá, whose buildings in Madrid are the excuse to display an art so methodical and portentous that it astonishes with its formats and well-known views.

The watercolor is present thanks to the renowned Beatriz de Bartolomé, whose watercolors are recognized in the continuous samples that her art has been doing regularly, while also discover the collection of “Girls” that gathers in his work the artist Jesus Soler, in A reason studied, exercised and that serves as an excuse to unravel the peculiarities of his special way of understanding art.

4

In this way, ten of the best hotels in Madrid will offer art lovers an experience of contemporary art like no other space before it, in a joint action that seeks to welcome visitors to the city in a Unique and special environment full of magic that infuse the spectacular works that will be exhibited.

The list of artists and hotels is as follows: Hotel Artiem. Sonia Casero Lázaro; Hotel NH Abascal. Ramón Córdoba Calderón; Gran Melia Fénix. Giomar Alvarez de Toledo; Rafael Hotels.
